CVWD Members Rally for Working Families

CVWD_Rally_1_500x187.jpgGardeners, engineers, treatment plant operators, community members and other water district workers held an informational rally Tuesday June 28, prior to the Coachella Valley Water District Board meeting, to inform co-workers and the public about the issues facing workers in contract negotiations.
Negotiations broke down when the board declared impasse over issues that SEIU believe are still on the table. SEIU and the board will meet again to discuss those issues and attempt to come to an agreement. If unsuccessful then both sides will work to agree on a mediator.

“As a wife and mother of two young children, these cuts will hurt my family. With daycare, gas and grocery costs going up, it will be a hardship; not just to our families but to our community. “ – Mercedes Soto, CVWD Office Assistant Trades and Support
