Over the past several months, hundreds of SEIU 721 members made phone calls, participated in precinct walks, attended endorsement meetings and took part in other events leading up to the Los Angeles City elections.

These SEIU 721-endorsed candidates won their races:

City Attorney: Mike Feuer

City Controller: Ron Galperin

City Council: Gil Cedillo (CD 1) and Curren Price (CD 9)

And don’t forget the overwhelming City Council victories SEIU 721 had in the first round in March:
Bob Blumenfield (CD 3), Paul Koretz (CD 5), Filipe Fuentes (CD 7), Mike Bonin (CD 11) and Joe Buscaino (CD 15), along with endorsed candidates  in other cities and districts.

But I know we can successfully build a working relationship with the new mayor, Eric Garcetti. We also scored some big victories. Mike Feuer will be an excellent City Attorney, and Ron Galperin, our new City Controller, has what it takes to make City Hall more transparent. Our new City Council members, Gil Cedillo and Curren Price, will work hard on behalf of working families.”
-Bob Schoonover, SEIU 721 President

There are other races going on this summer. In Compton, SEIU 721 members are working hard to elect Aja Brown mayor. Stay tuned for more information about that race and others.
