On Saturday, Nov. 2, LA County bargaining committee members, CATs, stewards and worksite leaders attended an emergency bargaining strategy meeting at the downtown Cathedral Plaza. Everyone was energized and ready to do whatever it will take to win a contract that will serve all of Los Angeles. The County is saying NO to our proposals to improve child safety, reduce traffic pollution and congestion, lift the living wage, and close corporate tax loopholes. The County has only offered us proposals that will threaten our income security and healthcare coverage.
Standing in solidarity with SEIU 721, The Coalition of County Unions leaders spoke at the meeting. They are committed to uniting with us and LA County Federation of Labor to ensure that both current and retired County workers have access to affordable healthcare.
All of the unions plan to participate in joint work actions in the days ahead. The County won’t know what hit it.
