The County is Listening to Animal Care Workers

The new Chief Deputy Director Betsey Webster attended her first JLM meeting to discuss: GPS, Vests, Promotion Process, Canvassers and the Call Center.

What Happened?

The current GPS system is still in the testing phase. We will be able to review how it is used when it becomes operational.
Field officers need bullet-proof safety vests for their protection. The County said each care center should receive at least two vests to be shared on an as-needed basis.

The County is revising the Promotions Policy to make it more fair so that an internal committee makes promotion decisions. Management stated they would investigate issues concerning Canvassers: mileage, safety issues, performance standards and new ways to earn revenue credits.

Management said the “Call Taking Procedures Assessment” would never be used to trigger disciplinary action.
