Breaking: Coalition of County Unions Unites with SEIU

On Friday, Nov. 1, 35,000 members of the Coalition of County Unions announced they are uniting with SEIU 721 members and the LA County Federation of Labor to ensure that both current and retired County workers have access to affordable healthcare.

SEIU 721 President Bob Schoonover and Children’s Social Worker Blanca Gomez spoke at a press conference announcing the unity pact. “When the county unfairly threatens us at the table, they make is impossible for us to bargain on behalf of the children we serve,” Gomez told the press.

All of the unions plan to participate in joint work actions in the days ahead.
