Election Day for the members of the City Council for Wards 2, 4, and 6 has arrived!

It is vital that we turn out to vote for candidates who stand with workers and our families. The community we call home matters too much to sit out this critical vote! We need to make sure that those we put into office will Raise Up Riverside by fighting for households like yours and mine. We work hard, and we live up to our values. Starting on Wednesday, October 19th through Thursday October 27th you can make your voice count by casting your ratification vote at scheduled worksites throughout the City and every day at the SEIU Local 721 Office from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

What is Public Service Recognition Week
?

Celebrated the 1st full week in May since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is a time set aside to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees. Throughout the nation and the world, public servants use this occasion to educate others about the work they do and why they have chosen public service careers, as well as the many ways government services make life better for all of us.

While we have made small gains following the Great Recession, many of us in the Inland area are still struggling to make ends meet and continue to live pay check to pay check. As both the City of Riverside General and Refuse Units face contract negotiations this summer, members’ answers to this survey will help set the priorities for the 2016 SEIU 721 Bargaining Team.
