What is Public Service Recognition Week ?
Celebrated the 1st full week in May since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) is a time set aside to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees. Throughout the nation and the world, public servants use this occasion to educate others about the work they do and why they have chosen public service careers, as well as the many ways government services make life better for all of us.

The ballot count for the 2016 SEIU International Convention Delegate Election was tabulated on April 18, 2016 by TrueBallot, Inc. The United States Post Office in Los Angeles, CA acted as Depositor for receipt of all ballots.

The movement launched by fast food workers three years ago has now completely changed the conversation around income inequality in this country. Today’s historic bill signing shows that when working people unite to fight for living wages and a voice on the job, we win.
Together, we celebrate this unprecedented legislation – but make no mistake: it was Local 721 and the Fight for $15 coalition that led the way. The courage, tenacity, and dedication shown by fast food workers and their allies has made our call for $15 and union rights a reality.
