SEIU Local 721 members in the Tri-Counties region came out in full force to represent at the UFCW 770 Healthy 5k race in Ventura. Over two dozen SEIU 721 members, family and community came out from Santa Maria to Simi Valley to stand up for healthy families.

Big Win at Ventura Pension Board

The pension board that oversees the pensions for County of Ventura workers was moving to exclude Market Based Premium Pay from being pensionable. This move from the Ventura County Employees’ Retirement Association (VCERA) Board would have hurt workers’ secure retirement. VCERA’s third-party counsel felt sure that it was interpreting the law correctly.


Contract Settlement* Raises Up ALL of LA County!

SEIU Local 721 and the County of Los Angeles have reached a Tentative Agreement on a new three-year contract. Detailed tentative agreement summaries, including significant gains on bargaining unit specific issues, will be available soon. At as many worksites as possible, membership meetings will be held to review the tentative agreements prior to the ratification vote. More information on ratification coming very soon, stay tuned. For now, here are some of the highlights and breakthroughs.


City of Santa Paula Members Approve Tentative Agreement

SEIU 721 members in the City of Santa Paula voted by a large margin to approve the tentative agreement.

This was the second vote on a tentative agreement, members rejected the first one. After members spoke up before the last city council meeting closed session, the council assured them that they would set up a process to become more informed on future bargaining negotiations.


LA County: Fair Contract Now!

On Tuesday hundreds of LA County members descended on the Hall of Administration to demand a fair contract that respects our work.
