SEIU 721 Helps Probation Department Honor Workers

On Thursday afternoon, Feb. 27, 2014, hundreds of workers from the Riverside County Probation Department converged on the Moreno Valley Conference Center to celebrate with their peers during the department’s annual Employee Recognition and Awards Ceremony. This was the first year the Probation Department received help from any sponsors for this annual event and SEIU 721 was honored to help recognize our members for their hard work and dedication in 2013

St. John’s Members Vote Yes

This collective bargaining agreement is unprecedented. It lifts up our represented members by providing significant wage increases, including raising all wages to at least $15 an hour.


Bargaining Begins in Santa Paula

The SEIU 721 City of Santa Paula Bargaining Committee met with City negotiators on Tuesday, February 18. The Committee presented the majority of its proposals. Critical proposals on wages and health are now on the table for negotiations.


Supervisor Stone Assures RCRMC Workers: Your Jobs Are Safe

On Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, nearly 200 public service workers from the Riverside County Regional Medical Center packed three informational sessions to hear directly from Jeff Stone, Chairman of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. Thursday’s open forum Q&A sessions at the hospital were hosted by SEIU 721, but all hospital employees, regardless of union affiliation, were invited to attend this historic event due to the importance of the information being discussed.


Riverside County Supervisory Members to Receive $1.6 Million in Wage Increases 

Several hundred SEIU 721 Riverside County Supervisory Unit members in more than 30 classifications will receive over $1.6 million in wage increases due to negotiated contract language. The money will come as salary increases of up to 5.5%, many with retroactive pay back to Sept. 5, 2013. The Board of Supervisors approved the first round of salary corrections on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014.


Over 1,000 People in Need Treated at Riverside Health Fair

More than 1,000 Inland Area residents came to 3rd Annual LULAC Community Health Fair on Saturday, Feb. 22, many of them seeking relief from chronic pain. For those who arrived early they received free dental care, medical check-ups, vision and hearing tests and other services that they couldn’t normally pay for.
