Dozens of SEIU 721 social worker members in Santa Maria came out to the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors meeting to stand up for child safety by providing social worker retention.
A hundred City of Oxnard SEIU 721 members came out to the Rally on Wheels event outside the Oxnard Library to get updates on bargaining and enjoy music on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
The Bargaining Committee unanimously voted to send the offer to members in good standing for a vote. The Committee did not make a recommendation.

What’s Going On?
The SEIU 721 Simi Valley Bargaining Committee agreed to a 90-day extension of the existing contract between SEIU 721 and the City of Simi Valley. The City requested the extension in early May so that the new City Manager, Eric J. Levitt, has a chance to “acclimate” himself to the City.
SEIU 721 members from Tri-Counties traveled to Sacramento to stand up for the California healthcare safety net and to expand medi-Cal at the May 15 rally. Many SEIU locals and thousands of members sent a loud and clear message to Governor Brown during the day-long rally and lobbying day.
